Beverly Hills, California, police want Lindsay Lohan to turn herself in on an arrest warrant issued Friday.

A police official told CNN on Saturday that officers will be on the lookout for the actress-singer until she does so.

It wasn't clear why Lohan was being sought, but the warrant, issued by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge in Beverly Hills, apparently stems from her 2007 convictions for drunken driving, Beverly Hills police Sgt. Mike Foxen said. She is serving three years' probation for those convictions.

"We're hoping that she will turn herself in," Foxen said.

Calls to Lohan's publicist and manager have not been returned.

Once arrested, Lohan, 22, could go free after posting a $50,000 bond, Foxen said.

Lohan was arrested twice in 2007 on driving under the influence charges, with a cocaine possession charge in the second incident.

The first arrest in May came after Lohan lost control of her Mercedes-Benz convertible and struck a Beverly Hills curb.

Just two weeks after checking out of a Malibu drug and alcohol rehab facility, she was arrested again in July 2007 after a woman called Santa Monica police saying Lohan was trying to run her down in a car.

A judge sentenced Lohan to three years' probation after she entered guilty and no-contest pleas to the charges. She served less than two hours in jail.

Lohan's acting career, which started at age 10 on a soap opera, took off on the big screen a year later when she played identical twins in Disney's "The Parent Trap."

Since then, she has starred in at least a dozen movies, including "Mean Girls" and "Georgia Rule" with Jane Fonda in 2007.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – A Los Angeles Superior Court judge quashed an arrest warrant for Lindsay Lohan.

Judge Marsha N. Revel told Lohan’s lawyer Monday that the actress has been complying with the terms of her probation but needs to show her treatment program better documentation to avoid future court problems. The judge also noted that Lohan has not failed any drug or alcohol tests.

The warrant for Lohan’s arrest was issued Friday. Her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, says it stems from a misunderstanding.

Holley presented Revel with documentation Monday morning that her client had not violated her probation. She said after the hearing that the confusion stemmed from the 22-year-old actress switching treatment programs.

“As you saw in court, this was really much ado about nothing,” Holley told reporters after the hearing. She said she expects Lohan to successfully complete her probation.

Lohan pleaded guilty in August 2007 to two misdemeanour counts of being under the influence of cocaine; no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 per cent and one count of reckless driving. She was sentenced to three years of probation.

The plea came after a pair of high-profile arrests in 2007.

Lohan was arrested Memorial Day weekend 2007 after her Mercedes-Benz hit a tree in Beverly Hills. She was arrested in Santa Monica a few weeks later after the mother of her former personal assistant called the police to report that her car was being chased by a car driven by Lohan.

Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail and had to perform community service and undergo drug-rehabilitation treatment.

The possibility of Lohan’s appearance and arrest drew dozens of reporters to the Beverly Hills courthouse, but the actress did not make an appearance.
