Johnson was last seen in Vancouver, British Columbia in August 1981. Linda worked in several temporary camps, ranging from mining camps to logging camps, in the Yukon and would travel to Vancouver, British Columbia between jobs. It was in Vancouver that she ran into one of the employees from one of the camps at a shopping center. She told the worker she was going to the Louisiana region (US) to work at a camp. She requested a money transfer from her father but never withdrew the funds from the bank. She has not been seen since.
Linda was born in New Brunswick but raised in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada. She travelled to the Northwest Territories and then to Vancouver, British Columbia before disappearing.
