DELTONA, Fla. -- Two teens found human remains in the woods east of Alex Lane in Deltona on Thursday morning, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

Adam Norton and his friend Austin were looking for golf balls when they made the discovery.

"It was just laying under a tree," he said. "There was just a pair of pants and bones and stuff.

The boys took the bones to the Norton's house.

"I kind of tapped on the skull to see if it was plastic and I had this weird chill come over me... like ok, this is not fake, this is real," said Laura Rudnicki, Adam's mother.

Investigators went to the scene and said they found about 75-percent of an adult skeleton. The remains are being analyzed by the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The teens who found the bones also discovered some camouflage shorts and a red baseball cap. Sheriff's investigators said they're also going through their missing person's database to see if there's any link to the remains.

Now that's a big no-no.
If you find human remains, do not touch, do not move anything, do not disturb the area. Call police, show where you have found the remains, and let the experts work the scene.
I suppose your average American teen hasn't been taught about these things.
I'll give them credit anyway for calling police, or was it the Mom who did that?
