A timeline of Trentons life
AUG. 10: Trenton Duckett is born in Eustis.
APRIL 28: Joshua Duckett, the boy's father, files a paternity suit seeking parental rights. The suit is dropped after a couple of weeks.
APRIL 30: Melinda Duckett, Trenton's mother, is committed for psychiatric observation by Bushnell police, after the police chief overhears her threatening to "end it" during a cell-phone conversation with Joshua. She is released the next day. Allegations by Joshua that Melinda is abusing Trenton follow.
JUNE 15: Joshua Duckett files an affidavit saying he made up the abuse complaints about Melinda threatening to hurt Trenton.
JULY 3: Melinda and Joshua marry in Dade City.
JULY 6: Joshua signs a settlement agreement for Melinda to be Trenton's primary, residential parent. His reason is unclear.
AUG. 8: Joshua files a petition for injunction against his mother, Carla Massero, alleging that she harassed him with phone calls and threatened to take away Trenton.
OCT. 31: Joshua and Melinda get into a fight in the parking lot of an Ocoee mall. Afterward, Trenton is briefly placed in foster care. The child is later placed with his great-grandmother, Nancy Eubank. This prompts Joshua's mother to write e-mails to Gov. Bush with further allegations against Melinda.
MAY 23: The state Department of Children & Families closes the dependency case involving Trenton and his parents. Melinda is granted sole custody; Joshua is given supervised visitation.
JUNE 14: Melinda files for divorce.
JULY 3: On the first anniversary of their marriage, Joshua sends an e-mail threatening to kill Melinda and Trenton.
JULY 6: Melinda files for a temporary injunction to keep Joshua away from her, and a judge later signs an order.
AUG. 26: Nancy Eubank says Melinda and Trenton spend the day at her home in The Villages.
AUG. 27: Melinda drives all over Central Florida with Trenton, according to her attorney.
AUG. 27: Trenton is reported missing from Melinda's Leesburg apartment at Windemere Villas. A widespread search for the child begins.
SEPT. 8: Melinda kills herself with a shotgun in her grandparents' home in The Villages.
