Cops Dig Up Grandma's House in Search for 5-Year-Old

Some 40 Officers and Cadaver Dogs Searched, But Found Only Animal Remains

Police spent the day Friday digging and dragging ponds at the home of missing Florida 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings' grandmother, but found only animal remains.

The new search comes more than four months after Putnam County, Fla., police scaled back their search for the little girl, who disappeared from the Satsuma, Fla., home of her father, Ronald Cummings, Tuesday, Feb. 10. He reported her missing in an desperate 911 call.

Even though an amber alert was issued and police received some 4,000 tips, the girl has not been found and no suspect or person of interest has ever been identified.

"[The search] was initiated because we did a interview with some family members ... and during the interview they wanted to make sure we understood that they had buried some animals here during the investigation," Putnam County Sheriff's Office Capt. Dominick Piscatello said. "With that said, we couldn't leave any stones unturned."

Haleigh's Stepmom Takes Polygraph, Hypnosis Tests
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Is the last person who saw a missing Putnam County girl alive lying? Eyewitness News obtained the video taken while Misty Croslin-Cummings took a lie detector test (watch video | see images) to prove she didn't have anything to do with the disappearance of 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings.

The man who gave her the test says Misty failed it miserably.

"There's nothing I'm not telling you. I've told you everything that I know," she said during the polygraph test.
The man asking the questions just wanted to know what happened the night Haleigh Cummings vanished from her father's Putnam County home. At the time, Misty was the girlfriend of Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, and now she is his wife.

"Do you know anything about her going missing?" the polygraph administrator asked her.

"Nothing at all about Haleigh going missing," Misty replied.

The computer said that response was the truth. Misty, 17, told the story she's told so many times before; she put Haleigh and her brother to bed at 8:00 the night of February 9 and Misty went to bed at 10:00pm. However, out of nowhere, in the middle of night she awoke from a hard sleep.

"What did you notice when you woke up?" the administrator asked.

"I noticed the kitchen light was on," she replied.

Misty said she also noticed that the backdoor was open. She didn't notice, however, that Haleigh was gone until afterward.

"You need to think, you need to tell me the truth, because I can see changes. Okay?" he asked.

"Yeah," she answered.

Misty insists she's telling the only truth she knows.

"I have my suspicions, yeah," Misty said.

She says her brother Tommy and her cousin Joe are at the top of her list, but she doesn't have any proof they've done anything. Still, the computer didn't completely believe her.

"I can see there are things you're not telling me," the administrator stated.

"I'm 17 years old. Like, what do you think?" Misty replied.

"What do you think happened to Haleigh?" he asked.

"I don't know what's happened to her. I don't think she's dead," Misty replied.

The head of Texas EquuSearch, Tim Miller, set up the test after, he says, Misty came to him to ask for help with the search for Haleigh. Miller also sent her to undergo hypnosis (watch video) .

Lie detectors or the hypnosis tests are not admissible in court and investigators say there is nothing at this point to charge Misty with in connection with Haleigh's disappearance.

Haleigh was just five years old when she vanished from her Putnam County home. Her family marked her sixth birthday more than one week ago.

First of all, there's something wrong with a 25-year-old man having a 17-year-old girlfriend. Call me prejudiced if you will, but that's my opinion. Once past the age of 30 or 40, 8 to 10 years age differnece is no big deal, but that young, it sure as hell is! It some states, he would be arrested for statutory rape.

Second, there's something wrong with deciding to get married in the aftermath of a a daughter going missing. Who would even dare try to argue with that? The only reason I can see is because spouses can't testify against each other in court.

Third thing wrong, the man is too distraught to go back to work after that, but not to get married, or make a TV appearance? I'm not even gonna touch that!

Put that all together and what have you got? Major disfunction! How can they possibly make a case stink any worse than that?

now here is news!..LOL

Haleigh Cummings' Dad Confirms Divorce Plans

The father of missing 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings confirmed on national television that he is divorcing his wife of seven months. Ronald Cummings said his wife, Misty Croslin-Cummings, is in Orlando because of the split.

The couple married weeks after Haleigh disappeared. Cummings wouldn't say much about the decision Tuesday night on CNN, but said they were under a lot of pressure because of speculation about Misty's possible involvement in Haleigh's disappearance."With the family problems and everything it's just too much on the relationship. We can't go anywhere without being questioned or people staring at us or anything like that," Ronald said.

Ronald Cummings' attorney says the divorce will be simple, because the couple doesn't have any joint assets or children.

The marriage lasted 7 months, huh?
That doesn't sound very stable, does it?
A child needs stability. At least, that's what I hear.
I forget now, why did the mother not get custody?

Looks like Misty didn't do too well on that polygraph test. I don't think she did a good job impressing Tim Miller either. But hey, she's just a kid. Maybe she can go back to high school and start over. Oh yeah, that's right, she's got this missing child case to deal with. Bummer.

Best case scenario? Haleigh went to live with a family that's a bit closer to normal, where she has a better chance at personal development than where she was.

Oh, I'm sorry. Was I being judgemental?
