Family’s plea for missing Middlesbrough man to come home
COME home Steven.

A heartfelt plea to missing Middlesbrough man Steven Cook has gone out from his anguished family and partner
The 29-year-old street warden left the home he shares with his partner Diane Kenvyn in Crossfell Road, Middlesbrough early on Sunday.

Steven is diabetic and insulin dependent.

He is believed to have taken his insulin pen with him - but it is not known how much medication he has left.

The search for Steven went into overdrive yesterday.

There was a reported but unconfirmed sighting of a man matching his description possibly buying chocolate from a Berwick Hills store - sparking fears that Steven may have been compensating for low blood sugar levels.

A heavy police presence on the ground was backed up by the force helicopter, which was drafted into the search for Stephen yesterday.

The helicopter began a search of the East Middlesbrough area at around 2.30pm, while officers visited Steven’s home in a bid to find any possible clues of his whereabouts.

His partner Diane said: “They are now starting the manual search to see if he had any diaries or any clues to where he’s gone.

“As far as we know there hasn’t been any positive sightings yet.

“A lot of people know Steven with him being a street warden. He’s a well-known face.”
Steven has two sisters, Zoe, 27 and Natasha, 23. His tearful mum Lynn, 50, sent a heartbreaking message to him through the Gazette: “Please just get in touch - either with me, your sisters or Diane.

She added: “Just tell him we love and miss him and want him home safe and sound.”

“The street wardens have been great, going out in a van to look for him, just fantastic.”

Street Wardens service manager Dave Brierley said: “He is a colleague and friend and we are obviously concerned for his welfare.

“I would urge him to contact police, his family or ourselves and let us know he is safe and well.”

The town has been blitzed with missing person posters made by Lynn’s godson Paul Kay and showing his photograph and carrying a description and vital family and police contact numbers plus a facebook address.

When last seen Steven was wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue jeans with grey patches on the back pockets and brown shoes.

Anyone with any information is asked to phone Cleveland Police on 01642 303126.
