In December 1984, the remains of a young woman were found along a gravel township road, south of the Hamlet of Newburgh, near Napanee. She has never been identified and her murderer(s) have never been caught.

The OPP need your help in identifying her and in finding her killers.

The police investigation indicates that although she was found in December, the unknown victim may have died between April and November 1984 suffering from severe trauma.

The victim was a Caucasian female, between 16-25 years of age when she died. She stood between 5’3” and 5’7” with a slim to medium build and blonde hair.

She had dental work which included silver-amalgam restorations (fillings) to her back teeth and white resin to her crooked front teeth. A forensic dental exam suggests that she had a root-canal on an upper incisor tooth on the left side when she approximately 8 years old. It was restored with a metal post and had a noticeable tooth-coloured filling replacing one corner.

She was found wearing a pair of Farini brand blue jeans with a waist size of 28.5” or 74 cm and an inseam of 31.5" or 80 cm as well as a black and tan leopard skin patterned long sleeve blouse. These items were sold in limited quantities at various stores across Canada, however, only the following stores sold both items worn by the victim: Suzy Shier outlets across Canada, Cheeks Boutique in Whitehorse Yukon, Jaseys Jean Rack in Windsor, Silverman’s of Sudbury and Plus 4’s in St. Catherines.

A skeletal reconstruction of the victim can be viewed and downloaded from the Resolve Initiative Website by going to www.opp.ca, under the case number 20050023.

The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a reward in the amount of $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of this young, unidentified woman.

If anyone has information that may assist the OPP in identifying this woman or her murderer(s), they are asked to call Napanee OPP at 613-354-3369 or Crimestoppers or contact the O.P.P. Missing Persons Unidentified Bodies unit at opp.isb.resolve@ontario.ca or at 1-877-9FIND ME (1-877-934-6363).
