Im not an investigator. over at facebook..many are saying that the police didn't look hard enough..maybe this is true... but saying that..I believe that its the people..who (when someone is missing) just take those moments to look in your back yards..lane ways..places that unfamiliar cars/vans trucks that have been sitting for long periods,,and if they seem suspicious..then just call the police.

That car for all we know might have NOT been sitting there for as long as public/police have been saying. The truth is..the investigators will not/can't say anything until the investigaton is made..and of course the autopsy has been done..

adding to this.. here is the latest news..

Police confirm woman was slain; Boyfriend is believed to have been last person to see young mother alive
As investigators continue to probe the death of Jessica Neilson, The Gazette has learned the last person believed to have seen her alive was once accused of assaulting her and has a history of problems controlling his anger.

Investigators tried to keep a tight lid on their probe into the death of 25-year-old Jessica Neilson yesterday as her family prepared arrangements for a final goodbye to the young mother whose disappearance and violent death has touched many.

Messages of sympathy continued to be posted on Facebook pages once dedicated to finding Neilson, a LaSalle resident and the mother of a 21/2-year-old girl.

Neilson disappeared on Dec. 8 and on Friday her body was discovered in her car, which had been parked in an alley in St. Henri and gone unnoticed for several weeks.

Yesterday, the Montreal police confirmed Neilson was the victim of a homicide.

A Montreal police spokesperson confirmed marks of violence were found on the body. However, Commander Jérôme Morissette, temporary head of the major crimes division, would not comment on how Neilson was killed.

"We are not releasing that as it is part of the investigation," he said. "Unfortunately, there's not much we can say because we are holding back on information to seek new points (from which to direct the investigation)."

Morissette also declined to say whether investigators have a suspected motive in the case.

In December, the police seized the cellphone records of Shawn Murray, a 33-year-old LaSalle man and Neilson's partner at the time of her disappearance. In December, the Montreal police said he was believed to be the last person to see her alive.

Neilson had been seeing someone else and had told Murray she was leaving him, a police source told The Gazette yesterday.

The Gazette has also learned Murray was charged with assaulting Neilson on Sept. 25, 2007. He pleaded not guilty and was acquitted on May 29, 2008, after he agreed to a court order to keep the peace for a year.

As part of the agreement, he was ordered to continue taking anger management courses and was required to make an appointment at a domestic violence clinic within 10 days of signing the agreement.

In 2001, Murray was charged on four occasions with offences like assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats. All four cases involved a woman Murray dated and he was acquitted in each case.

Murray did not return phone calls requesting an interview.

Dan Neilson, Jessica's uncle, released a statement shortly after the Montreal police announced they were investigating her death as a homicide. In the statement, the uncle asked that Jessica's family be given some privacy "as we prepare her for her final resting place and deal with this tragic loss."

"On behalf of Jessica's families, we want to thank the people of Montreal and Canadians across the country and the U.S. who have sent messages of sympathy and support to our families. Jessica was a scholar, athlete, daughter, sister, mother, niece, cousin and friend to many. Her infectious smile and constant laughter was enjoyed by everyone she touched. A ray of sunshine everywhere she went will shine bright through her daughter.

"The world will not know everything she had to offer."

Friends and family pay respects to Jessica Neilson

"rest in peace"... Justice will be done!

LaSalle woman was murdered

LACOLLE – Under a steady downpour Monday night, a stream of visitors came for the visitation of Jessica Neilson, 25, whose body was found in her car in St. Henri on March 27 after she had been missing for nearly four months.

Many of those who came to the Gilles Serre funeral home were friends of Neilson’s parents, Donald and Robena, who live in the neighbouring town of Noyan. But many others made the 70-kilometre trip from Montreal, including former classmates, co-workers and friends.

“I graduated with her (from LaSalle Catholic High School in 2000) and I grew up playing soccer with her,” Melissa Guy, 25, said. “She’s way too young to be here. Her (2-year-old) daughter is going to grow up without a mom. We shouldn’t be here.”

Neilson was last seen Dec. 8, 2008, by her boyfriend Shawn Murray leaving their LaSalle home in her Acura Integra on her way to see friends downtown. The car was found covered in snow and parked in an alleyway. Residents said it was there for some time. Autopsy results last week showed Neilson was murdered.

Guy said she cried when she heard what happened.

“For her to be where she was shows the world is ignorant. They knew her car was there; it should not have taken that long for her to be found.”

Several of Neilson’s friends and colleagues visited the family. Neilson worked at Morris and Mackenzie Insurance firm in Westmount with her father. The company has rented a bus, and 92 employees are expected to attend today’s funeral.

“She was very bright and sunny,” said Neilson’s co-worker for about five years, Elizabeth, who didn’t want to divulge her last name. “She was full of life and full of good. She had an amazing ability.”

One of the friends of Neilson’s grandmother Margaret Neilson spoke about her athletic prowess. She was a soccer player and a figure skater.

“If there was a group of skaters, you could always tell which one was her on the ice because she had the biggest smile,” said Beverly Burns, 68, whose granddaughter skated with Neilson at the LaSalle arena and was in many of the same competitions. “She was a beautiful mother, a beautiful girl. She was tops. She was a classy lady and my God she loved her little girl.”

“As a mother and a grandmother, my heart goes out to them. All of them.”

One visitor said he didn’t know the family, nor did he know Neilson, but he travelled from Delson because her story moved him.

“I feel like I saw her face somewhere,” Claude Lewis, 51, said. “The story really affected me. She was just sitting there in the alleyway, and she could have been anywhere. I wanted to give my sympathies to the family.”

The funeral will be held this morning at 11 in Lacolle Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Sally Meyer of the Lacolle United Church. The Catholic Church is being used because the United Church isn’t large enough.

Police still hunting for Jessica Neilson's killer
More than two months after her body was found in a car buried under a pile of snow in St. Henri, homicide investigators continue to search for Jessica Neilson’s killer.

“My investigators will not stop investigating until they have arrested the suspect, or suspects, or even accomplices,” said Commander Clément Rose, head of the Montreal police major crimes division. “We will never stop.”

Asked for an update on the status of the investigation, Rose said there is not much information he can divulge.

Rose said his investigators have interviewed about 30 people. Most of them knew the 25-year-old mother, including colleagues at her workplace, friends and relatives.

Neilson is believed to have been last seen alive on Dec. 8. Investigators have not been able to corroborate information that she went out either to a party or for drinks with friends the night of Dec. 8.

Because that night is key to the investigation, Rose said, he is eager to hear from anyone who might have seen Neilson on Dec. 8. She was reported missing to police, by her father, on Dec. 10.

Her body was discovered on March 27 inside her white 1994 Acura Integra. The car was parked out of sight behind a building on Notre Dame St. W. and near another vehicle that had been parked there for several months. The car containing Neilson’s body appeared to have been covered by snow for some time.

An autopsy has determined how she was killed; the major crimes division is refusing to divulge that information.

Rose said police have received results of tests done on evidence gathered from Neilson’s body and her car, and are awaiting other test results.

Rose refused to comment about whether Neilson’s boyfriend, Shawn Forster Murray, 33, is a suspect in the case.

As reported in The Gazette, Murray agreed to sign a bond on May 29, 2008, to keep the peace for 12 months in a case in which he was charged with assaulting Neilson. One condition was that Murray was required to continue anger management therapy, which he had started after being charged in 2007.

Anyone with information about the Neilson case can call the Montreal police major crimes division at 514-280-2052 or InfoCrime at 514-393-1133.
