Im not an investigator. over at facebook..many are saying that the police didn't look hard enough..maybe this is true... but saying that..I believe that its the people..who (when someone is missing) just take those moments to look in your back yards..lane ways..places that unfamiliar cars/vans trucks that have been sitting for long periods,,and if they seem suspicious..then just call the police.
That car for all we know might have NOT been sitting there for as long as public/police have been saying. The truth is..the investigators will not/can't say anything until the investigaton is made..and of course the autopsy has been done..
adding to this.. here is the latest news..
Neilson investigators mum
Police confirm woman was slain; Boyfriend is believed to have been last person to see young mother alive
As investigators continue to probe the death of Jessica Neilson, The Gazette has learned the last person believed to have seen her alive was once accused of assaulting her and has a history of problems controlling his anger.
Investigators tried to keep a tight lid on their probe into the death of 25-year-old Jessica Neilson yesterday as her family prepared arrangements for a final goodbye to the young mother whose disappearance and violent death has touched many.
Messages of sympathy continued to be posted on Facebook pages once dedicated to finding Neilson, a LaSalle resident and the mother of a 21/2-year-old girl.
Neilson disappeared on Dec. 8 and on Friday her body was discovered in her car, which had been parked in an alley in St. Henri and gone unnoticed for several weeks.
Yesterday, the Montreal police confirmed Neilson was the victim of a homicide.
A Montreal police spokesperson confirmed marks of violence were found on the body. However, Commander Jérôme Morissette, temporary head of the major crimes division, would not comment on how Neilson was killed.
"We are not releasing that as it is part of the investigation," he said. "Unfortunately, there's not much we can say because we are holding back on information to seek new points (from which to direct the investigation)."
Morissette also declined to say whether investigators have a suspected motive in the case.
In December, the police seized the cellphone records of Shawn Murray, a 33-year-old LaSalle man and Neilson's partner at the time of her disappearance. In December, the Montreal police said he was believed to be the last person to see her alive.
Neilson had been seeing someone else and had told Murray she was leaving him, a police source told The Gazette yesterday.
The Gazette has also learned Murray was charged with assaulting Neilson on Sept. 25, 2007. He pleaded not guilty and was acquitted on May 29, 2008, after he agreed to a court order to keep the peace for a year.
As part of the agreement, he was ordered to continue taking anger management courses and was required to make an appointment at a domestic violence clinic within 10 days of signing the agreement.
In 2001, Murray was charged on four occasions with offences like assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats. All four cases involved a woman Murray dated and he was acquitted in each case.
Murray did not return phone calls requesting an interview.
Dan Neilson, Jessica's uncle, released a statement shortly after the Montreal police announced they were investigating her death as a homicide. In the statement, the uncle asked that Jessica's family be given some privacy "as we prepare her for her final resting place and deal with this tragic loss."
"On behalf of Jessica's families, we want to thank the people of Montreal and Canadians across the country and the U.S. who have sent messages of sympathy and support to our families. Jessica was a scholar, athlete, daughter, sister, mother, niece, cousin and friend to many. Her infectious smile and constant laughter was enjoyed by everyone she touched. A ray of sunshine everywhere she went will shine bright through her daughter.
"The world will not know everything she had to offer."
