CALGARY - The medical examiner’s office is still trying to solve the mystery of a woman found dead in Fish Creek Park.
Her body was located May 13 face down in a river bed near Mallard Point in a moderate stage of decomposition.
Though this is the second time authorities have released photographs of this Jane Doe, they still do not have enough information to identify the woman.
“We have released this information today in the hopes of identifying this woman and to provide some closure to her family,” said Alberta’s assistant chief medical examiner Sam Andrews.
The cause of death has not been finalized but it “is not considered suspicious at this time,” said Andrews.
She is described as between 33 and 45 years old, 5’2”, 157 lbs. with thick black shoulder length hair. She was found wearing a burgundy hooded GAP sweatshirt, blue jeans, black boots with chunky heels and two costum jewelry rings.
The woman had tattoos of a rose with the word ART through its stem on her left ankle, a coloured wreath around her belly button and the faded outline of a butterfly on her left forearm. Photos of these features and clothing items can be seen at

“If we find we are unable to identify her, she will receive an indigent burial,” said Andrews.
Anyone with information on her identity is asked to call the medical examiner’s office in Calgary: (403) 297-8123.
